“The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will instruct his patient in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease” – Thomas Edison

Shyama Sasidharan

Shyama Sasidharan is a professional Indian Classical Dancer, Yoga Teacher and MC. She holds a Master’s degree in Performing Arts and is also a Yoga Teacher, accredited by the Council for Yoga Accreditation International.

Shyama has been a Yoga and movement enthusiast since her childhood, but little did she know that she was imbibing the principles of Ashtanga yoga from her parents through their lifestyle. Well trained in the aspects of Ashtanga Yoga, she is proficient in more than sixty Yoga asanas and various meditation techniques. She was initiated to meditation during her school days, from Sri Chaitanya – a public charitable trust founded by M. Vishwanathan, who became her first mentor. To further develop her knowledge and understanding of yoga, she joined the S-VYASA University, Bangalore, and obtained her Accredited Institution Yoga Teacher certification. She has also learnt the basics of Kalaripayattu (an ancient martial art form). She combines her skill of Indian Classical dance and knowledge of Kalaripayattu to create her own specialized sessions. As an accredited Yoga Teacher, not only does she teach specific yoga regimens in a safe manner, she also customizes yoga exercises according to the needs of the individual. In addition, she has also worked with those with special needs.

Previously, she has trained multiple corporate clients and groomed participants of the first ever reality show on Malayalam television – Super Star (on Amrita TV), which she went on to host herself. Shyama is also an experienced Master of Ceremonies and has hosted numerous live events around the world, including celebrity studded Film Awards, High Profile Government and Corporate Events.

Shyama is currently based in Australia, and is in an attempt to propagate Indian art and values through her new venture Prakalpa Samskruti.

Lucy Liga

My yogic journey began 23 years ago when I started practising Iyengar style yoga. Yoga has been fundamental to my growth and provided balance when life was busy or hectic. Time and time again yoga brought me home and centred me. I have been very fortunate to travel and experience many different styles of yoga, recognising that they all bring you back to the same place, finding union with body breath and mind.

I teach an intuitive vinyasa yoga that is functional to accommodate all levels. It is geared towards building some heat, developing core awareness whilst increasing body and breath consciousness to bring you in union with yourself.
